I seem to have spent much of this week talking about and planning for Christmas. That’s quite a scary thought as there is much to be done before then. It is really important to plan but sometimes we can move onto the next thing without really enjoying the moment that we are in.

An example of this is that I can be guilty of eating food without properly tasting it because my head is thinking about the next thing I need to be doing. It is much better for my whole body to savour the food I am eating, one mouthful at a time.

The Bible reminds us to live where we are; ‘… don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.’ (Matthew 6.34) Putting our faith and trust in God is what we as Christians are called to do. When we do that the way that we look at things begins to change. Rather than see what we don’t have, we begin to see the things that we are given. This is not always easy but we believe in a God who is all loving, all just and all merciful. When we live according to his ways, he watches over our ‘going out and our coming in.’

Stop each day and take a moment to see how you have been blessed. It will change the way that you live and enable you to respond to others in love and generosity.

Every blessing,
